Le Corbusier-inspired design with an external steel wrap-around frame of the Petit Confort proportion and covered in all Italian leather.
The Petite Cuscino Chair is a classic modern reproduction of Le Corbusier's LC2 Corbu Petite Chair which was originally created in 1928 as a modernist response to the traditional club chair. Le Corbusier referred to his LC2 and LC3 Grand Confort Collections as "cushion baskets", with cushions held in place without being tethered to the frame. Le Corbusier wanted to offer all the comfort of a padded surface while applying the elegant minimalism and industrial rational of the International Style. Following the example of the LC1 Sling Chair, these pieces reverse the standard structures of sofas and chairs by having frames that are externalized. The resulting aesthetic of the simple tubular structure is remarkably relevant to how we live today, three-quarters of a century later. Thick, resilient pillows rest within the frames and provide the kind of of sumptuousness rarely found in even the finest overstuffed conventional chairs. The LC2 collection is more compactly scaled and sits higher. The LC3 collection includes down-wrapped cushions that have a softer look and feel. The Petite Cuscino Chair is made of premium #304 Stainless Steal tube frame that has been triple polished and CA117 fire-retardant foam. The upholstery used for the chair is a soft high grade Aniline Protected Italian leather, which provides you comfort and long lasting quality. Our leather offers a more supple feel over many of the other modern classic furniture in the market. We offer the same quality product offered at high-end modern design retailers but at a much lesser price.
