Inspired by the original mid-century and modern design by the designer trio Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand; the Manhattan Home Design’s reproduction of the LC7 Armchair is manufactured with the purpose of enhancing any space from a dining room to an executive office or conference room. Its striking design made this chair an instant favorite and iconic piece from the Bauhaus movement and now enjoys the status of a timeless piece of mid-century and modern furniture design.

Its frame is made of stable stainless steel and its round back and seat are covered with the finest leather. Its round, thickly padded seat is fitted on top of a curved base of tubular steel that concludes in a swivel mechanism. Functioning as both, a backrest and armrest, a curved, amply padded barrel is linked by three tubular steel supports that fuse at the seat base.

About the Designer

Charlotte Perriand was a French architect and designer whose participation in the avant-garde cultural movement of the first decades of the 20th century caused an unfathomed transformation in aesthetic values and originated a truly modern sensitivity towards a new way of living, still existing today at the center of contemporary lifestyle. To this day, one can witness her presence in the Le Corbusier studio in all the pieces designed with him and with Pierre Jeanneret. She imbued a new human dimension to the usual cold rationalism of Le Corbusier.

Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, better known as Le Corbusier, was a Swiss-French one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture and design. Few designers in history have been as influential to the world of architecture and design as Le Corbusier. The designer strongly believed a better urban life was not only possible but easily achievable by the proper use of building techniques and new materials.
