The Jason Statham Saga: The Malibu Surf Shack

Posted by SJ on Apr 21st 2021

As we referred previously in the saga of Jason Statham, the British actor of very successful blockbuster films, like the Fast and Furious and The Transporter sagas, is all an action star when it comes to restore and selling homes. The Malibu Surf Shack is its more recent adventure. Let's talk a little about it.

Located in the Malibu Colony enclave, this is a slightly different crib than the rest of neighbors. For starters, its measures: 4,000 sq ft. Kind of large for a shack right?. It’s a two story contemporary place of black shingles. The property passed through a very deep indoor restoration directed by Jason himself, with the help of Courtney Applebaum. When it comes to outdoors, Jason tried to keep the same profile, just enhanced.

Just like it happened with its L.A. property, Mid Century Modern and Scandinavian have the preponderant role in furniture. And all furniture choices were made by himself, with a special consideration for Hans Wegner chairs:, Sawbuck Chairs, Round Chairs and Lounge Chairs. One of the cover photos shows the lead man of Shadow and Bone seated comfortably on a Swivel Chair. A Shell Chair stands out in the living room. As he declared several times, is "obsessed" with Mid Century Modern and Scandinavian Design.

With the passing of years, and with a careful planning of its financial resources, Jason Statham has managed to buy, restore and sell some real state opportunities that came along in the way. Recently , the Surf Shack house was sold in $18.5 m. Even thought considering that Jason and his wife, Rosie Huntington , asked for $19.95 m in the first place, we don't think they had a bad deal. They bought it ten years ago for $ 10.6m.

For inspo, info and great offers in furniture, don't miss the opportunity in Manhattan Home Design, the alternative for Mid Century Modern style furniture, with masterpieces like the Barcelona Chair or the Shell Chair .
