Choosing the right bedroom set for your mid-century home

Bedroom sets are a great way to get a head start on home design. Sometimes it can be difficult to pick and choose from so many different items and configurations. Buying a bedroom set can really help you save some time, even if it does require assembly.
If your house is mid-century, or follows certain mid-century trends, you might want your bedroom set to be just as cool. Here’s one that has caught our eyes repeatedly, both because of the price and the aesthetic.
Manhattan Home Design’s Bethany sets
A white Queen mattress is sitting atop a somewhat larger bed, with little rubberwood legs on the sides. The headboard is made from foam and fabric, and the design looks a little like it comes directly from Hans Wegner’s workshop.

You have the choice to purchase a 2-piece set for $1,568. This will get you the bed, sideboard, and a small nightstand that you can duplicate for about $400 more. The 3-piece Bethany set ($1,935) is the perfect starter kit for any mid-century bedroom.
If your budget’s a bit higher, you can also go for the 5-piece set. These include a mirror and a wide sideboard, apart from the above mentioned nightstands. All of them follow the same dark tone and sturdy build that the bed also has.
You can get the 5-piece set with sideboard for $3,581, but that means losing one of the nightstands. After all, the bed counts as a “piece” too. There is another version of the 5-piece that includes both nightstands, and costs about $500 less.
Why should I purchase a bedroom set?
It might seem that bedroom sets are a little bit underrated. Most people prefer to buy different things at different times, thinking that they know better, that buying selectively is better. That is not always the case.

Like we’ve said before, buying a bedroom set can save you a lot of time while still retaining style and comfort. The people that put the sets together have a sense of style because that is their job. The Bethany sets are like a small mid-century bedroom capsule.
With that in mind, at least consider the possibility of owning a set. MHD also sells the mattresses, if you need one, and quality lighting to put on those nightstands.
