Introduction

The following terms and conditions apply for the use of manhattanhomedesign.com (interchangeably referred to as “our Website or this Website) and outline the legal responsibilities between you and ManhattanHomeDesign.com. By placing an order on our online store, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions in relation to the following. 

Do You Have a Showroom or Physical Store?

We don’t have a showroom at the moment. By operating exclusively online, we’re able to offer more competitive prices, without the overhead of physical locations or sales staff.

Placing an Order

Once you have placed an order, we will send you an email with your order details. Please contact us via email customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com for clarifications or updates.

Sales Tax

We charge sales tax in New York and New Jersey.

Delivery Times

Products in stock will be shipped out within 1-3 business days, unless otherwise specified on the product page or elsewhere.

ManhattanHomeDesign.com is not responsible for delays due to inclement weather, strikes or inconvenience from the supplier. 

If at any time you would like to check the status of your delivery, send an email to customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com and we will provide a response no later than 24-48 business hours (our goal is to reply immediately). You can also call us at 800-320-8867 (choose “customer service” option).

All deliveries are curbside. If you require additional assistance, please send an email to customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com for a quote on add on services. Please find additional delivery information below. Shipping to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico require a shipping quote. Please email customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com.

Made-to-Order

We take pride in offering a wide variety of furniture tailored to your preferences. Please review our policy regarding "Made-to-Order" items:

Order Cancellations
Orders for "Made-to-Order" items can be canceled within 7 days of placing the order for a full refund.
After the 7-day window, cancellations will incur a 25% restocking fee to account for materials and production costs.

Lead Time
"Made-to-Order" items have a production lead time as specified on the product page (e.g., 11-12 weeks). While we strive to meet this timeline, a 4-week grace period is included in our terms and conditions to accommodate any unforeseen delays.

If the lead time exceeds the stated timeframe on the product page plus the 4-week grace period, customers are entitled to a full refund upon request.

By purchasing a "Made-to-Order" item, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

Early Cancellation

Once the order is placed and payment is authorized, your order will be regarded as confirmed.

We ship our in-stock products the same or the next day the order was placed. If you cancel your order after the order has shipped, you will be responsible for the shipping & handling costs and a restocking fee of up to 20%.

Once an order is cancelled by the customer, the company will refund the full amount of the order or an agreed upon amount immediately.

All cancellations must be in writing and with acknowledgment of receipt from our company. Credit card companies charge 4% to process orders, those fees are not refundable in an event of cancellations, exchanges, etc.

Early Cancellation for Sale Items

The sale items from the SALE tab in the Menu on top of the website are available and in stock. However, due to higher demand and limited availability of sale items, the customer may only cancel the order if the sale item order has not shipped. If the customer cancels any unshipped sale item order after 24 hours of placing the order, we reserve the right to charge the customer a 25% fee for blocking the availability of the sale item on ManhattanHomeDesign.com.

Chargebacks

Rather than go through the hassle of disputing a charge with your bank and accumulating many chargebacks from your bank, please email us at customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com or Call us at 800-320-8867. We will address your charge concern immediately.

Return & Exchange Policy

    • Return Window: You may return items within 7 days of delivery.
    • Item Condition: Returns must be unused, undamaged, in original packaging, and double-boxed.
    • Refund Details:
      • Refunds will be issued minus original shipping costs and a 15% restocking fee.
      • Customers cover return shipping costs and must insure the item for its full value.
      • If the item arrives damaged at our warehouse, a deduction will be made from the refund.
    • Defective/Damaged Items:
      • For returns due to defects, damage, or color variation, email us with 2-3 photos of the issue for return authorization.
      • Items must include all original accessories and packaging.
    • Return Authorization Required:
    • Processing Time:
      • Refunds/exchanges are processed within 1-2 business days after inspection.
    • Shipping Costs & Free Shipping Policy:
      • Customers cover all outbound shipping costs for exchanges.
      • If an item had "FREE SHIPPING," the actual shipping cost will be deducted from the refund.
    • Important Return Guidelines:
      • Ship items within 2 business days of authorization.
      • Email return tracking number to customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com, or the refund will not be processed.
      • If the item is damaged in return transit, the customer must file a freight claim with the carrier.
    • Product Exchanges:
      • All shipping, handling, administrative, processing, and restocking fees apply.
      • Any remaining balance will be issued as store credit only—no exceptions.
    • Freight/LTL Shipments:
      • These palletized truck deliveries may take 24-48 hours for tracking updates.
      • If canceled after shipping, customers are still responsible for original shipping costs and a 15% restocking fee.

Damaged Goods

    • Freight Deliveries:
      • We ensure safe delivery using top logistics providers.
      • Inspect packages upon delivery for holes, gouges, or damage.
      • Note any carton damage on the delivery receipt (e.g., "damaged in transit") to file a claim.
      • If damage is found after opening, email customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com within 24 hours.
      • Keep all original packaging for 15 days for returns or exchanges.
    • FedEx/Small Carrier Deliveries:
      • If the packaging is severely damaged, reject the package.
      • For minor damage (e.g., handles, casters), accept the package, take 3 photos, and email us.
      • Customers must inspect items at delivery; failure to do so may result in return shipping costs.
    • Local Deliveries:
      • Inspect and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
      • If a replacement is needed, reject the package.
      • For small damages, take 3 photos, email us, and we’ll send a replacement part.
      • Claims must be made within 24 hours of receipt.
    • Leather Color Variations:
      • Colors may differ across screens. Each leather piece is unique, with variations in tone, texture, and hue.
    • Damage & Return Policy:
      • Report damages within 24 hours. Returns due to damage will follow standard return policies, including restocking fees.
    • Liability Disclaimer:
      • Manhattan Home Design is not responsible for any accidents or injuries related to our products.

Delivery Attempts & Information

    • Freight Deliveries:
      • Residential Deliveries: The freight company will call to schedule a delivery appointment. Missed appointments will be rescheduled, but repeated missed deliveries may result in storage fees.
      • Business: Deliveries occur during normal business hours without prior scheduling.
      • Curbside Delivery: Customers must retrieve items from the truck.
      • Additional Services (e.g., liftgate, inside delivery) are available for an extra fee—email customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com for a quote.
    • FedEx/Small Carrier Deliveries:
      • FedEx makes three delivery attempts. If undelivered, call 1-800-GoFedEx to arrange pickup.
      • If returned to our warehouse, the customer is responsible for re-shipping fees plus a $50 administrative charge.
      • All deliveries are curbside and sent via FedEx Ground.
      • Tracking updates may take 24-48 hours to appear in the system.
    • Local Deliveries:
      • Customers will receive a 3-hour delivery window via email 24-48 hours before delivery.
      • If the time frame doesn’t work, notify us immediately. Missed deliveries will be rescheduled.
      • Curbside delivery only. For additional services, email customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com for a quote.

Delivery Storage Fees

Deliveries made via Less Than Truckload (LTL) Carriers require prompt customer communication. If an LTL Carrier attempts to contact you for delivery coordination and receives no response for more than two (2) business days, storage fees will begin to accrue.

Storage fees are determined by the carrier and vary based on weight and pallet count. A typical estimate for storage fees is $25 per day, but actual fees may differ.

Customers are responsible for all storage fees incurred due to delays caused by lack of response or coordination.

If the customer refuses to pay storage fees and cancels the order, they will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee plus all applicable shipping costs.

Transfer of Perils

We do outsource the shipping of our products to reliable and well-known logistics companies. As such, we do not handle your products directly.

Shipping is not serviced by ManhattanHomeDesign.com. If not otherwise requested, the ordered goods will be handed over on your behalf to a transport company.

As soon as product(s) have been handed over to the transport company the responsibility for coincidental damage or degradation of the ordered goods is transferred to the transport company.

Pricing & Payment Policy

    • Payment Authorization & Charges:
      • Your card will be charged in full immediately upon placing an order for all orders.
      • Orders suspected of fraud will not be charged until we verify the order with the customer.
    • Coupon Code Policy:
      • Coupons are valid only during the active promotion period and must be applied at checkout.
      • Expired coupons cannot be used or applied retroactively.
    • Coupon discounts do not apply to:
      • Existing orders, returns, exchanges, or prior purchases.
      • Orders placed on third-party marketplaces, shopping engines, or auction sites.
      • Purchases outside the continental USA.
      • Only one coupon per customer/delivery address.
      • ManhattanHomeDesign.com is not responsible for expired promotions listed on external websites.

Warranty

ManhattanHomeDesign.com products undergo a series of rigorous quality control inspections to confirm the excellence of the product that will be shipped to you. We offer a one-year warranty on all of our products and in that period we will replace any manufacturing defect. The warranty does not cover general wear and tear. In the unlikely event that your item has a defect, please email detailed images to customerservice@manhattanhomedesign.com for your case to be reviewed.

Enjoy peace of mind knowing that you've protected your purchase with an extended warranty.

Our regular warranty is up to 1 year before the purchase is done.

Warranty Example: If you are using the chair and a part breaks, we will replace it for free. If you have a pet and it scratches the leather, we will offer you the replacement parts at cost, but it will not be included in the warranty.

Privacy Policy

Manhattanhomedesign.com respects the privacy rights of its online visitors and recognizes the importance of protecting information provided from them. compliant to the guidelines of the Data Protection Act (1988).

Manhattan Home Design may collect your email address via cookies and pixels on the Website through the use of trusted third-party partners.  These partners may combine your email information with other information they have access to such as mailing address so that Manhattan Home Design may serve relevant marketing offers to you via direct mail.   If you do not want Manhattan Home Design to collect information about you, please contact Manhattan Home Design to opt out.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of State of New York and applicable federal laws. Personal information is generally stored in the jurisdiction it was collected from or generated at. However, if your Personal Information is used or stored outside of outside of the State of New York, your state, or the US in general, it will also be subject to the laws of the country in which it is used or stored.

Conformity of Goods

Reasonable variations in the color or in the dimensions are not considered as a defect. We cannot accept any responsibility of any variation in color caused by your browser software or computer system.

We use high quality materials. Some of them have natural character, which may not be considered as a defect. This includes variations in shade, texture, color or grain.

Shipping to Canada

The customer is responsible for any Customs Charges, Local Charges (Fees and VAT) and additional shipping costs to Canada. Our representative will get in touch with you and present to you the final quote, which can then be paid through Credit Card or Check.

Special Promotions & Offers

All promotions & newsletter offers are subject to terms & conditions of our website.

The prize must be taken as offered. Delivery of free gifts / promotional items can take longer than the delivery of the main product(s) ordered. Shipping outside the Contiguous United States will be subject to payment of shipping & processing fees (if any) by the recipient.

No cash equivalent or other alternative prize is available in whole or in part except as provided in these terms and conditions.

Free gifts will only be available while stocks last.

Minimum purchase value does not include shipping or taxes.

Offers limited to one gift per delivery address. Promotions are only valid in continental USA.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.

Email Tracking and Easy Opt-Out

 Some emails that we send you have no tracking in at all, for example personal correspondence or emails with invoices attached. Other emails we send have tracking so that we can tell how much traffic those emails send to our Website and we can track, at an individual level, whether the user has opened and clicked on the email. The expected time of the gift's ship date is 2-3 weeks.

Leather Homogeneity

Unlike fabric swatches that are "man-made" and are all exactly the same, each of our leather comes from a unique natural cow hide. Owing to this, there might be a variation in the texture, tone and hue of the leather between the swatch samples and the leather you receive in the final product. Kindly be fully aware of that.
