Before start talking about modular sofas and the Mario Bellini sofa is important to highlight and sharing the historical movement behind this incredible style of sofa.

Modular sofas came when modernism was established

The modernism movement has revolutionized since its inception the way we decorate and the furniture we choose for our spaces. This movement emerged in 1880 and in fact, lasted longer than you might imagine because it ended in 1940, a very long period, right?

Although it ended in the 40s, the influences of this style remain in current interior designs, this may be due to the objective on which it is based, which is basically related to working for originality and innovation, ignoring tradition and tradition and rationalism.

The last sentence may confuse you, but what I meant to say is that modernism was a kind of rebellion movement because its first objective went against what was considered conservative at that time. How they did it? Experimenting and freeing themselves, using different creative processes and creating new abstract forms by letting feeling and art be part of the construction process.

This is where modular sofas come in, which changed the perception and standards of the elements of a living room creating a completely different concept. This was due to the fact that the decorative elements were removed from the furniture and simple and modular furniture began to emerge along with the natural colors.

How modular sofas look like & why it’s a good option

The modular sofa has become the first option for many families, increasing its popularity due to the features it’s able to offer. Modular sofas named like that because they basically are made of removable parts, this is what allows them to be fittable to living rooms, letting the user create their own bespoke piece of furniture.

So, why acquiring a piece like a Mario Bellini is a good option? Well, you can see it from different perspectives but the main one is related to its configurable option. The attractiveness of a modular sofa like the aforementioned is that works exactly how you want it to, the different sizes of the pieces it is composed of allow you to set the layout and fit various elements in your living room.

The other good thing about these kinds of sofas is that due to their popularity and demand you can find them in plenty of materials and colors, even they can come in L and U shape, in case you don’t like the regular form of standard sofa, modular ones are the best option for you.
