  • It was originally conceived to furnish the lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark's first skyscraper, on which Jacobsen worked between 1956 and 1960.   • Another interesting fact about the hotel project where the egg chair made its first entrance is that the building where this icon was placed was completely a rectangular building with hard edges. Quite ironic right?
