Which leather should you choose?
Aniline and Italian are both luxury-grade high-quality leathers. Cosmetically, aniline is shinier; Italian is a matte finish. Aniline is less treated, and thus, more natural and soft. Only 5% of hides are eligible to be used for aniline.Leatherette(vinyl) is a great option for those who want something environmentally friendly, but it is less soft and durable than the real leather options

Charles & Ray were an American husband and wife team that changed furniture design and architecture during the 20th century. They were vital in popularizing new materials and techniques for crafting furniture, such as using molded plywood, fiberglass, plastic resin and wire mesh.

Full Grain Aniline Leather:

Because the surface structure is fully visible in full grain aniline leather, only completely flawless leather hides can be processed. Any damages on the skin surface of the animal caused by horn scratches, warts, insect bites and other markings can leave visible scars. Such hides cannot be used for making full grain aniline leather. Because the majority of hides have some scars or damage, supply and demand dictates that full grain aniline leather is generally more expensive than pigmented leather. Tanners state that less than 5% of the delivered skins can be processed as full grain aniline leather.
