The Addison 4-piece Queen bedroom set from Manhattan Home Design

Posted by Manhattan Home Design on Jan 9th 2019

We’ve been talking at length about the relevance of Manhattan Home Design’s bedroom sets, which range from the minimalistic to the whimsical and luxurious. The Addison set is a best-seller, especially the 5-piece, but today we are talking about decorating with a 4-piece Addison starter kit. The only thing you’re missing is one nightstand, but that can entirely change a room’s configuration, let’s see why.

For starters, we should tell you that this set costs about $2,854, which is still a great price when you consider the cost of most mid-century items today, especially wooden dressers, nightstands, and even mirrors. Like we’ve said before, this bed features a distinctive mid-century design that spreads the legs outward, helping to create stability and comfort for even the stubbornest toss-and-turn person.

How do I decorate my room with one of these sets?

If you’ve purchased an Addison set, the first thing you’ll notice is that the headboard is very thick, and immediately contrasts with the sleek, thin bed frame. The thickness of the headboard will provide fullness to your bedroom, so there isn’t really a lot much that you should purchase as an extra.

That being said, take a look at the nightstand and the dresser. You can place the nightstand the same way it appears on the picture, but you can also place it right next to the dresser like a quiet little companion, with a small lamp on top to serve as your night light (check out the lighting catalog for choices). Alternatively, you can place the dresser in front of the bed, but we don’t recommend doing the same with the mirror (unless you’re into seeing your own reflection every morning, we don’t judge).

There is another set that you can get which comes with two nightstands but is well over the $3,000 mark, which is why some people prefer this 4-piece Queen set. Speaking of which, do not worry about bed sizes, the Queen frame of the Addison can hold two larger-than-average people comfortably. The mattress is not included, but the MHD catalog can help you with that as well. What more could you need for a good night’s sleep?
